Can't say if their rifles SN #s are the same as their Makarov pistols SN #s, but if they are, here's what I know: The two digits that appear DIRECTLY after the two letters indicate the year of production and they are coded. For example my Bulgarian Makarov has the digits '23' which I believe is the year '1983' without looking it up. IIRC the Bulgarians stopped using that system after the fall of their Communist Govt. I currently have a 106CR, prefix KT. When I received it, I couldn't see much of a feed ramp, so I wanted to know if my rifle had the fix or not. My logic would be that the KT would have it being that it is alphabetically past BD. Download Pinball.

Taking it to the range with 80 rounds of PMC.223 and 5.56 gave me no issues at all with feeding and cycling properly. I just kinda guessed that mine does have the fix, but I would like some concrete evidence, as 80 rounds doesn't really tell me much, IMO.

I doubt it was fixed retroactively, because my serial number prefix is BD which is known to be the prefix that was the first of the fixed rifles. The only way it could have been built in 2006 is if all the BD prefix rifles were kept in a warehouse in Bulgaria until they developed the feed ramp fix, then they pulled them all out of storage, fixed them, then shipped them to the US to be the first 106s with the current feed ramp.
