The T-38 Talon has the the distinction of being the world's first supersonic aircraft to be built as a trainer. The first hull was delivered to the US air force in '61 and Northrop were able to claim that every single plane in the F5/T-38 series was delivered not only on time, but at or below target cost, which must make the line pretty much unique.
